Let’s Give ’Em Some Real Fake News

One of the things that’s long frustrated me about the Democrats is that they consistently play by a different set of rules than the Republicans. This has been the case since decades before our current dysfunctional era, but it’s definitely been thrown into high relief under Trump and his minions.

Simply put, the Dems are too nice. They’re afraid to get their hands dirty and turn the tables on the GOP, throwing a little slander and outrageous rumor their way to even the score…just a bit.

If Trump gets off on ranting about fake news, as he clearly does, why not give him some real fake fuckin’ news to complain about? That’s all I’m saying. Level the playing field.

Start a rumor that under Trump’s direct orders, Jared and Ivanka commissioned COVID-19 in a lab in Baltimore last fall to decimate Democratic voters.

Spread a report that Melania is running a human-trafficking and child sex slave ring out of a nail salon in Secaucus.

Disseminate a fuzzy videotape purporting to show Trump and Pence in a BDS&M encounter. Neck collars, chains, shiny black leather hemi-masks, the whole deal.

Roger Stone already looks like a Batman villain, so it should be easy to tie him into a plot to steal the gold in Fort Knox and build a private island where he and other admin honchos can repair while they launch nukes at China, laughing all the way.

No apologies from Biden, Warren, Harris, Beto, Buttigieg, Bernie, or any of the rest of that crowd, either.

“This is no time to take the high road,” they should say. “We’re Democrats. This is what we do. Dirty tricks R us.”

No apologies, no take backs, no hand-wringing, no demands for resignations out of Kirsten Gillibrand’s office.

Let’s get some Democratic dirty tricks happening. It may be our only hope.

That’s it. That’s the blog post for today.
